A year or two ago, I read Born to Run. That was a great book about ultra running and hard to live up to. That said, I really enjoyed reading Eat and Run but I just don’t think it lived up to Born to Run. While this might not be a fair comparision, but that kind of stuck in my head as I was going thru it and stories about similar races. What I do love about this book, is that it does talk about nutrition and how you can do these ultra endurance sports – racing and training – with a plant base diet. We are not talking 50k racing, we are talking 100+ mile racing. Plus seeing confirmation that nutrition is vitial to recovery times, really has me looking forward to my next book on this topic – Nutrition Periodization for Endurance Athletes.
All and all, I think the ratings I have seen from 3.5 to just under 4 stars are fitting and a solid read. I really enjoyed Scott’s story.
